Reading the specification

What these numbers mean for your installation

A datasheet tells you what the unit does. This is what each figure changes about how you specify, feed and site it — worked out for the 50 kVA specifically, not the range in general.

Rated current

70 A per phase

50 kVA at 415 V three-phase is about 70 A. Isolation transformers are sized on connected load, not on the diversified figure — total the nameplate rating of everything downstream rather than a metered average.

Regulation

±1.5%

±1.5% describes how far output sags between no load and full load. It is not voltage correction: an isolation transformer passes incoming fluctuation straight through. If your supply itself is unstable, this belongs downstream of a servo stabilizer, not instead of one.

Isolation grade

Dual-shielded (ultra)

Dual-layer electrostatic shielding targets common-mode noise and high-frequency transients, not just galvanic separation. This is the grade specified where measurement integrity matters — semiconductor tooling, metrology benches, imaging systems — and is over-specified for general machine isolation.

Sizing Guide

When is 50 kVA the right choice?

50 kVA ultra-isolation is specified for measurement integrity, not for load. The rating covers a full toolset — a semiconductor metrology bay, a research cleanroom's instrument supply, an EMC or calibration laboratory — but the reason to choose the ultra grade over standard isolation at the same kVA is the dual-layer electrostatic shielding and 30° phase shift, which together attenuate the common-mode noise and high-frequency transients a single-shield 1:1 unit passes straight through. If your symptom is earth loops or nuisance leakage trips, standard isolation at a lower rating will solve it for considerably less. Choose ultra when the symptom is measurement drift, data corruption, or unexplained instrument noise.

Before you order

Where 50 kVA goes in, and what the site needs

Typical installations

We supply 50 kVA most often into semiconductor manufacturing, precision electronics labs, research facilities and industrial testing centers, alongside cnc machine tools and medical imaging systems. What separates those sites is the sensitivity of what sits downstream, not the kVA. The same rating protects a production machine and a metrology bench, but the earthing arrangement and shield termination that each needs are not the same, and getting that wrong wastes the transformer.

Site preparation

At 1,100 kg this is forklift work, and the forklift has to be rated for 1,100 kg at the extended reach that placement requires. Confirm floor loading before it arrives — a ground-floor workshop slab is normally adequate, a mezzanine generally is not. Leave working clearance on the terminal side for cable entry and inspection. Sustained ambient above 45 °C, or an enclosed room without cross-ventilation, requires derating — send us the room conditions and we will confirm the rating still holds where you intend to put it.
