1000 kVA is a plant-level rating, not a machine-level rating. It is typically specified when an entire factory block — compressors, heavy presses, conveyors, paint booths, and office loads — feeds from a single HT/LT transformer and the facility engineer wants a single point of voltage regulation before the main LT bus. At this size, dual servo motor control is essential: a single servo mechanism cannot physically respond fast enough across a full 1000 kVA window. Petrochemical process plants and semiconductor fabs also specify this rating because their equipment cannot tolerate even transient voltage events during critical batch cycles.
